We're Elisenda (Eli) and Libor, founders of Barcelona Born & Bred — a small, independent company creating authentic food tours in Barcelona with a focus on slow tourism, responsible travel and Catalan food culture.

We met while living in Edinburgh, where we discovered a shared passion for tourism, storytelling and working with people from around the world. With backgrounds in History, Tourism and Customer Service, and more than 15 years of guiding experience across Europe, we've spent the last 6 years creating intimate, off-the-beaten-path food experiences in Barcelona.

Eli is Catalan, a passionate home cook and a food travel enthusiast. She loves sharing the traditions, flavours and everyday stories that shape Catalan cuisine, while also connecting with other food tour hosts around the world.

Libor is a natural communicator and creative storyteller with a background in screen printing. He brings warmth, curiosity and clarity to every experience, helping turn each stop into part of a bigger story about Barcelona and its people.

Our tours are deeply personal. We visit local markets, family-run restaurants, traditional bodegas, artisanal wine cellars and heritage food producers who help keep Catalonia's culinary traditions alive.

We believe food is one of the best ways to understand a place. Every dish has a story, every neighbourhood has its own character, and every local business adds something unique to the city.
